Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN for a 13-week assignment requiring Level 1 Trauma and Epic experience.

Details

• Inpatient overflow Med/Surg unit at a Level 1 Trauma hospital
• 12-hour day shifts, 7:00AM to 7:30PM, 3 days per week
• 36 hours per week
• Uses Epic charting system
• 6 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule
• 3 holiday shifts required per year
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Minimum one year of relevant nursing experience
• ASN required, BSN preferred
• Level 1 Trauma facility experience required
• Epic EMR charting experience required
• Strong critical thinking, documentation, and time management skills
• Experience with medication administration and interdisciplinary collaboration

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care including assessments, care planning, medication administration, and patient education
• Receive bedside shift report and validate safe patient room environment at each shift change
• Delegate and validate completion of patient care tasks assigned to HCTs
• Maintain patient safety through fall precautions, isolation precautions, and pressure ulcer prevention protocols
• Support quick admission and discharge processes for observation status patients
• Promote a positive, collaborative, and healing work environment
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
• Prior Carle Health contingent workers must complete a 6-month break in service if previously on assignment for more than 1 year
