Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a Level 1 Trauma hospital position requiring Epic EMR experience and an active IL RN license.

Details

• Work on a Med/Surg unit within a Level 1 Trauma hospital setting
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• 36 hours per week across three 12-hour shifts
• Six weekend shifts required per six-week schedule
• Holiday coverage required every other holiday
• Floating required to similar units
• Utilizes Epic EMR for charting and documentation

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted)
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Minimum one year of relevant nursing experience
• ASN required, BSN preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Level 1 Trauma experience required

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care including assessments, medication administration, and care plan documentation for assigned Med/Surg patients
• Receive bedside shift report and validate safe patient room environment at start of each shift
• Delegate and oversee patient care tasks completed by HCTs
• Maintain patient safety through fall precautions, pressure ulcer prevention, isolation precautions, and ambulation safety
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate patient care
• Support timely admission and discharge processes, particularly for Observation status patients
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
