Medical-Surgical RN Job Requirements

• Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license, or confirmation that the licensing process has been initiated
• At least 1 year of recent medical-surgical nursing experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Current NIHSS certification
• Proficiency with electronic health records; EPIC experience preferred
• Ability to provide a negative drug screen in accordance with facility requirements
• Strong patient assessment, communication, organization, and clinical nursing skills

Travel RN Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with a range of medical and surgical conditions
• Perform nursing assessments, monitor patient status, and promptly identify changes in condition
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, ancillary departments, patients, and families to coordinate care
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes accurately in EPIC
• Educate patients and families about treatment plans, medications, recovery, and discharge instructions
• Promote patient safety, infection prevention, and evidence-based medical-surgical nursing practices
