Travel Med Surg Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

This is a travel position for a Med Surg Registered Nurse (RN) needed for a night shift role. The travel RN will provide care for patients within a medical-surgical unit, facilitating recovery and maintaining a safe and effective care environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in the medical-surgical unit.
• Monitor patient progress and communicate updates to healthcare team members.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Assist with patient assessments and care planning.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding treatments and care plans.

Shift and Scheduling

This position requires working night shifts, specifically from 7 PM to 7 AM. The facility can accommodate scheduling requests for a 48-hour work week.

Qualifications

• Current and valid RN license.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification preferred.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification preferred; however, the facility will accept submissions pending ACLS as long as it is obtained before the start date.
• Experience with Cerner electronic medical record (EMR) system is preferred.
• Minimum of one year of nursing experience in a medical-surgical setting required.

Additional Information

Floating to other units may be required depending on patient care needs.
