Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week travel assignment at a Level 3 Trauma Center, requiring 2+ years of Med Surg/Oncology experience and an active IA or compact RN license.

Details

• Surgical/Oncology unit (4A Surg/Onc) within a Level 3 Trauma Center
• Patient population includes orthopedic, urology, general surgery, oncology, and medical cases
• Day shift, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Every third weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required within the same discipline across local campuses
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active IA or compact RN license
• 2+ years of Med Surg and/or Oncology experience required
• High-acuity care experience preferred
• Experience administering Heparin, PCA, and epidural drips required
• Chemotherapy certification required if administering chemo drips
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA preferred; ARC or US Military accepted)
• Active NIHSS certification required (may be obtained during onboarding)
• Valid driver's license required
• Skills checklist specific to Med Surg required
• Supervisory reference/performance evaluation from within the last two years required

Additional Information

• Contribute professional clinical knowledge and skills as part of an interdisciplinary team providing patient care
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Required to work 2 of 3 winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, New Year's Day)
• Limited to 1 day off request during designated holiday blackout periods
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply; prior travel experience preferred
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
• Past UnityPoint Health employees (FTE or PRN float pool) are restricted from working travel assignments in other UPH markets within 12 months of separation
