Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position requiring 2+ years of med-surg experience and Epic proficiency at a Level 3 Trauma Center.

Details

• Work in the 3A Medical unit of a Level 3 Trauma Center hospital
• Gen Med patient population
• Patient ratios of 1:4-5 on days and 1:5-6 on nights
• 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, working 36 or 48 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• May float within the same discipline across local campuses
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active RN license (Iowa or compact) currently in hand
• Current BLS certification (AHA preferred; ARC or US Military accepted)
• 2+ years of med-surg experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Heparin drip experience preferred
• Valid driver's license required
• Skills checklist specific to discipline required
• Supervisory reference form completed within the last two years required

Additional Information

• Contribute professional and clinical knowledge as part of an interdisciplinary team managing patient care
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Holiday coverage required for 2 of 3 winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, New Year's Day), with a limit of 1 day off requested during the surrounding blackout periods
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, as no local candidates are accepted
• Past UnityPoint Health employees (FTE or PRN float pool) are ineligible to work travel assignments in another market within 12 months of separation
