Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position requiring an active Michigan RN license and at least 1 year of Med/Surg experience.

Details

• Medical Surgical unit caring for a mix of medical and surgical patients including ortho/neurovascular, cardio/pulmonary, GI, urology, hysterectomy, and mastectomy cases
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 7:30
• 36 or 48 hour work weeks available
• Every other weekend required
• Staffing ratio of 1:5-6 at night, which may flex to 7-8 patients with LPN support
• Floats to other Med Surg units, typically once per week
• Works alongside a variety of staff including RNs, LPNs, and Techs

Requirements

• Active Michigan RN license required
• BLS (AHA) certification required, pending certification accepted if candidate confirms willingness to obtain
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg experience required, 2 years preferred
• Proof of flu vaccination required with consideration, with exemption requests submitted within 48 hours of signing
• Supervisor-level references required

Additional Information

• Must be available for the first 2 weeks of assignment for orientation
• Assignment length offered up to 26 weeks
• RTO limited to no more than 10 days
• Travelers are prioritized for floating assignments
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate with no radius restrictions, though some specialties may have local rate adjustments
• Previous Bronson internal travelers may return after 6 months, and previous permanent staff may return after 1 year
• Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed at this time
