Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med Surg RN for a night shift assignment requiring 2+ years of Med Surg experience and Epic proficiency at a Level 3 Trauma Center in Sioux City, IA.

Details

  • Medical unit (3A Medical) within a hospital setting
  • Night shift, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • 3x12 schedule with every third weekend required
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • May float within the same discipline across local campuses
  • 36-hour guaranteed schedule
  • Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

  • Active RN license (Iowa or Compact)
  • Current BLS certification (AHA preferred; ARC or US Military accepted)
  • 2+ years of Med Surg experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Heparin drip experience preferred
  • Skills checklist specific to Med Surg required
  • One supervisory performance reference/evaluation completed within the last two years required
  • Valid driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Contribute professional and clinical knowledge as part of an interdisciplinary care team
  • Level 3 Trauma Center environment
  • Navy blue scrub dress code
  • Holiday coverage required for 2 of 3 winter holidays (Christmas, New Year's, or Thanksgiving)
  • Limited time-off requests permitted during peak holiday periods (11/26-11/30 and 12/23-1/2)
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • No local candidates considered; all candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
  • Past UPH FTE or PRN float pool employees are restricted from working travel assignments in another UPH market within 12 months
