Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week assignment requiring strong medical-surgical skills including trach care, IV starts, and PICC lines.

Details

• Med/Surg unit at a hospital in Atlanta, GA
• AM shift, 3x12s, 36 hours per week
• No on-call requirements
• Unit covers complex medicine cases including complicated UTI/PNA, sepsis, trachs, PEGs, PD, AMS, and pancreatitis
• Approximately 14 days per month spent on a research unit involved in flu challenge studies with healthy patients
• Remainder of time spent on complex medical patient care

Requirements

• Active GA or Compact RN license required in hand
• Minimum 18 months of RN experience required
• Strong Med/Surg skills required
• Experience with trach care, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), IV starts, and PICC lines required
• Peritoneal dialysis experience preferred

Additional Information

• Care for medically complex patients including those requiring trach management, PEG tubes, and peritoneal dialysis
• Participate in research unit duties involving controlled flu exposure studies with symptom monitoring
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; no local candidates accepted
• Former Emory or Houston permanent staff must be separated for at least 1 year before returning to the health system, or 18 months if returning to the same facility
• RTO limited to a maximum of 5 days if not near a holiday, or 3 days if requested on or near a holiday
• Only one holiday RTO request allowed per assignment
• First-time travelers may be considered
