Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN for a 12-hour day shift position requiring BLS and NIHSS certifications, with a strict 75-mile residency radius.

Details

  • Acute Care Med/Surg unit with 44 beds, 40 staffed
  • Patient ratios of 1:5, possibly 1:6, for days and nights
  • CNAs on unit at ratios around 1:8-1:10, occasionally used as sitters
  • MEDITECH EMR used, experience preferred but not required
  • 12-hour day shifts, 6:45a-7:15p, with every other weekend required
  • Floating required to all acute care units, cardio, or EC to cover acute care patient holds
  • Telemetry patients present but monitored on a different unit
  • General orientation is 1 week (includes EMR training) plus 2 days of floor-specific orientation

Requirements

  • Active RN license (GA or Compact) currently in hand
  • Current BLS and NIHSS certifications, both AHA-issued
  • Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
  • At least 1 prior travel assignment required
  • Driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide direct patient care on a busy Med/Surg unit, including handling patient holds from the EC
  • Caribbean Blue scrub color required
  • Holiday coverage required as needed
  • Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility, based on driver's license address, to be eligible
  • Not eligible for placement if previously employed by the facility within the last 12 months
