Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN for an acute care hospital position requiring 1 year of experience and NIHSS certification.

Details

• Inpatient Surgical (Med/Surg) unit within an acute care hospital setting
• 12-hour day shifts from 7a-7p, every other weekend required
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6 with charge nurse coverage across all units
• CNA support generally at 1:8, sometimes 1:10, with occasional 1:1 pulls and sitters
• Telemetry monitoring available on other units
• Ventilator support includes BIPAP, CPAP (nights only), Vapotherm, and Draeger
• On-call required during low census periods
• Floating required to Ortho/Neuro, Oncology, Acute Care, and JFW units
• Floor-specific orientation provided
• Uses MEDITECH EMR
• 24/7 in-house Respiratory Therapy and Pharmacy support
• OB/Neonatologist available in-house
• PICC line support available, no dedicated IV team

Requirements

• Active RN license (GA state or compact)
• BLS (AHA) and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• At least 1 prior travel assignment required
• BSN not required for this position

Additional Information

• Rotates holiday coverage with permanent staff
• Must be flexible with changing unit assignments during a shift
• Scrub color requirement: Caribbean Blue
• Must reside outside a strict 75-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for placement
• Not eligible for placement if previously employed by the facility within the last 12 months
• Cancellation policy allows for 12 hours every 2 weeks
