Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN for a 13-week day shift assignment requiring 2+ years of experience and BLS certification.

Details

• Medical Surgical unit with a 1:5 patient ratio
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM
• Floating within scope required as needed to meet facility needs
• Meditech Expanse EMR used, experience strongly preferred
• Local candidates accepted within an 80-mile radius at local rate

Requirements

• Active RN license (IN state or compact) required in-hand prior to start
• BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred
• CMSRN or RN-BC certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Meditech charting experience preferred
• Community hospital and LTAC experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central line and PICC line management
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, tracheostomy care, and oxygen administration
• Experience managing dysrhythmias, telemetry monitoring, and rapid response situations
• Wound care and wound vac management experience
• Driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Care for a general Med/Surg and MS/Tele patient population, with exposure to short-stay, orthopedic, and plastics cases
• Strong teamwork, time management, and communication skills needed in a fast-paced environment
• Required to call out at least one week in advance for time off
• Availability for holiday coverage should be indicated at time of consideration
• First-time travelers may be considered depending on experience level
