**Join Our Team as a Med-Surg RN in the Surgical Specialty Unit!** - **Location:** Overland Park, KS - **Shift:** 7A - 7P - **Hours Guaranteed:** 48 hrs Preferred - **Start Date:** 12/14 **Unit Overview:** - Dynamic Surgical Specialty Unit (SSU) - **Number of Beds:** 20 Private Rooms - **Patient Ratios:** 4:1 total patient care; 5:1 with a Patient Care Tech - **Unit Support:** 1 Tech for every 4-5 Nurses on the floor **Key Equipment:** - Alaris IV Pumps - CADD Epidural Pumps - Alaris PCA - Pyxis Medication Dispensing Machine - Telemetry and EKG Monitors - Bladder Scanners - Wound Vacuums - Capnostream Machines - SCD Pumps **Documentation System:** Medi Tech **Scheduling Requirements:** - Every 3rd weekend - Two Mondays and Fridays per 4-week schedule **Floating Policy:** - To like medical/surgical/telemetry units including ortho neuro center, med/tele, 4N, CDU **Patient Experience:** - High-paced environment - Focused on quality post-operative care **Hiring Profile:** - **Required Skills:** - Med-Surg experience - Strong understanding of post-operative care - **Advanced Procedures:** - Ostomy management and irrigation - NGT placement and management - Foley catheter placement and maintenance - Central line management - JP drains and wound management - IV starts and blood administration - Nutritional supplementation including TPN and G/J tubes **Certifications Required:** - BLS Certification **Dress Code:** - Royal Blue tops - Black or Royal Blue bottoms **Awards/Recognition:** - HCA Unit of Distinction for Med-Surg 2021 --- **Why Catalytic Solutions (CatSol):** At CatSol, we connect dedicated therapists with rewarding assignments across the country.
