Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg RN for a fast-paced Neuro/Ortho unit with night shift hours and rotating weekends.
Details
- Med-Surg unit specializing in neuro and orthopedic care on the 3rd floor
- 32-bed unit with 49 staff including RNs, PCTs, and unit secretaries
- Patient ratios of 1:4 (RN only) or 1:5-6 with PCT support
- Common procedures include total joint replacements, complex spine care, complex neuro surgery, and general surgery
- Uses Welch Allyn equipment and Meditech EMR
- Night shift schedule from 7pm-7am
- Rotates every 3rd weekend, with night shifts falling on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday
- Floating required to Med/Tele and Surgical Specialty floors
- 13-week assignment
Requirements
- Active KS or compact RN license required
- BLS certification required
- ACLS or PALS preferred
- Basic Dysrhythmia class preferred
- Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg experience required
- No employment gaps of 90+ days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Fast-paced, team-oriented unit environment
- Provide care to patients undergoing complex orthopedic and neurosurgical procedures
- Royal blue scrub top and bottom required, or black scrub bottoms may be worn
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this travel position
