Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg position on a post-surgical care unit, requiring a TN or compact RN license and at least 1 year of experience.

Details

• 13-week assignment on a 32-bed post-surgical Med/Surg unit
• Night shift schedule from 18:45 to 07:15
• Cares for general surgery patients along with overflow medical and surgical patients from throughout the hospital
• Common diagnoses include bowel obstruction, wound infection, gastrointestinal cancers, and morbid obesity
• Patients must be hemodynamically stable and not require mechanical ventilation
• Serves patients ranging from young adult to late adult (18 - 60+)
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:6
• Staffing plan includes RNs, LPNs, PCTs, and Nurse Interns, with RNs holding full responsibility for team patients
• May float between units or facilities within a 35-mile radius based on staffing needs, with advance notice provided before any float shift

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Current BLS certification through AHA
• Successful completion of a proctored rhythm test required
• Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start
• Current license and primary source verification required within 30 days prior to start
• Must provide a US Social Security Number and a US home address
