Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring at least one year of experience and a TN or compact RN license.

Details

• Post-surgical care unit serving general surgery patients along with overflow medical and surgical patients
• 32-bed unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6
• Patient population ranges from young adult through late adult (18-60+)
• Common diagnoses include bowel obstruction, wound infection, gastrointestinal cancers, and morbid obesity
• Patients must be hemodynamically stable and not require mechanical ventilation
• Care team includes RNs, LPNs, PCTs, and Nurse Interns, with the RN holding full responsibility for assigned patients
• Night shift schedule from 18:45 to 07:15
• Floating may be required to other units or facilities within a 35-mile radius based on staffing needs, with advance notice given before the scheduled shift

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license required
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• BLS certification required (must be AHA)
• Successful completion of a proctored rhythm test required
• Current license and Nursys primary source verification required within 30 days prior to start
• Must possess a US Social Security Number and provide a US home address

• Provide post-surgical nursing care within a collaborative unit known for strong teamwork and communication with providers, including surgical residents covering most surgeons around the clock
• Radius rule applies, allowing local candidates at a reduced rate depending on distance from the facility
