Join a leading acute-care hospital in Montgomery, AL, as a Registered Nurse in the Med/Surg unit. This contract position is ideal for experienced RNs seeking to make a difference in patient care while enjoying the benefits of travel nursing.

As a Med/Surg RN, you will be part of a dynamic team in a Level I Trauma Center with a focus on providing high-quality care to patients. We welcome first-time travelers with a minimum of 18 months of experience in Med/Surg and/or ICU. Experience with EPIC or Cerner is required, with Cerner being mandatory for those with strictly ICU backgrounds. Please note that staff must be away for six months before returning as a traveler.

Your responsibilities will include:

Providing care for patients in various surgical and trauma settings, including General Surgery, Vascular surgeries, Neuroscience, Oncology, Orthopedics, and Urology.
Maintaining patient ratios of 1:4-6, ensuring high-quality care and support for activities of daily living.
Performing essential skills such as wound care, IV administration, telemetry monitoring, and medication documentation.
Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, including CNAs, charge nurses, and telemetry techs, to optimize patient outcomes.

Required certifications include BLS and NIHSS. Ideal candidates will have experience with telemetry and a strong background in trauma/surgical care, including skills like IV starts, blood draws, trach care, and wound management.

Orientation for travelers will consist of 24 hours of classroom training and 24 hours on the unit. Scheduling includes weekend rotations and holiday expectations, with a cycle of 4 weeks. Scrub colors are flexible, and parking is available in the designated free parking deck.
