Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN for a Level 1 trauma admissions unit requiring EPIC experience and ND or compact RN licensure.

Details

  • Acute care Med/Surg admissions unit (2A) within a Level 1 trauma center
  • 15-bed unit with all private rooms, admitting patients discharged from the ER awaiting unit assignment
  • General medical/surgical patient population
  • Nurse-to-patient ratios of 5:1 days and 6:1 nights
  • 12-hour shifts rotating days and nights (0700-1930 or 1900-0730)
  • Every other weekend and every other holiday required
  • No on-call requirements
  • Floating to other medical/surgical units as needed
  • Uses EPIC EMR, Zebra phones, Omnicell medication system, and Aleris IV pumps

Requirements

  • Active RN license (ND or compact) required
  • BLS certification (AHA) required
  • Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience required
  • Level 1 trauma center experience required
  • EPIC EMR experience required
  • Ability to work in a busy, fast-paced environment

Additional Information

  • Perform initial patient admissions and provide care until patients are transferred to their assigned unit
  • New, fast-paced medical/surgical unit environment
  • Navy blue scrubs required
  • Candidates residing within 60 miles of the facility are not eligible
  • Candidates residing 60 to 80 miles from the facility are eligible at a reduced local rate
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
