Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Postpartum/GYN unit requiring 2 years of LDRP experience and NC or compact RN licensure.

Details

  • Work in an LDRP unit with 10 LDRP beds, 2 OB beds, and 2 triage beds
  • Average daily census of 7 patients
  • Patient population includes labor, triage, postpartum, and newborn care
  • Follows AWHONN staffing guidelines: 1:2 inactive labor, 1:1 active labor, 1:3-4 couplets
  • Dedicated scrub tech supported for laboring patients
  • 12-hour night shift schedule from 1900-0700, 36 hours per week
  • Weekend rotation required every other weekend
  • No on-call requirements
  • Floating required within Region 3 (Cleveland, Kings Mtn, Lincoln, Central Division including CMC Main, Mercy, and LCH) as needed and within scope of practice
  • Schedule cycle runs every 6 weeks
  • EMR: Epic
  • Uses Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Phillips monitors
  • Unit-specific equipment includes bladder scanner, fetal monitoring, and HUGGS system

Requirements

  • Active NC or compact RN license required
  • Minimum 2 years of LDRP experience required
  • BLS, ACLS, NRP, and EFM certifications required
  • Skills in labor management, cesarean section circulating, pre-op, PACU, triage, newborn resuscitation, Pitocin management, and epidural management required
  • Willingness and ability to work in an LDRP setting required
  • Last 4 digits of SSN and full DOB required for consideration
  • Minimum of 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN

Additional Information

  • Provide comprehensive care across labor, triage, postpartum, and newborn services
  • Charge nurse support available on the unit
  • Respiratory therapy support available 24/7
  • OB physician and anesthesia/CRNA team support on-site
  • Nurses perform phlebotomy in addition to lab staff
  • Monitor and recover cesarean section patients in-room unless under general anesthesia
  • Orientation includes New Employee Orientation (NEO) plus 2 days of departmental orientation
  • Travelers required to work 75% of holidays
  • Up to 6 days of RTO may be approved, excluding holidays; unmet contracted hours must be added to the end of the contract
  • Scrubs are provided and parking is free
  • Unit culture is described as positive and family-oriented
  • First-time travelers may be considered if necessary
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
  • Previous employees must be separated from any AHSE facility for at least 1 year after working a permanent position before returning
