Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor and Delivery

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for our Labor and Delivery unit. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment, ensuring the health and comfort of mothers and newborns throughout the birthing process.

Unit Information

Unit Type: Family Birthing Center (Labor and Delivery)
Bed Capacity: 19 Postpartum, 12 Labor & Delivery, 2 Operating Rooms, 1 PACU
Patient Ratios: 1:4 for postpartum, 1:1 for labor and delivery
Common Diagnoses: Low and high-risk deliveries; has a Level III NICU available for specialized care
Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Cerner and Fetal Link for monitoring

Shift Details

Shift Pattern: 12-hour night shifts
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Weekend Requirement: 3 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule
Shift Times: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery
Required Certifications:
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Advanced Fetal Monitoring
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- COVID Vaccine (Certification required)

Floating and Orientation

Floating to pediatrics may be required, focusing primarily on couplets. Orientation includes 2 to 3 shifts based on experience with circulating. Staff is available to assist with circulating duties as needed.

Additional Information

Staff Support: Nurse Manager Monday through Friday; clinical supervisor overseeing the unit 6 out of 7 days.
Pharmacy and Respiratory Therapy: Available 24/7
Peak Delivery Times: July and October
Holidays: Participation in holiday rotation as necessary with permanent staff
