Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery (L&D) Registered Nurse position in a Family Birthing Center is available within the Sacramento area. This role involves comprehensive care for term, preterm, and high-risk patients, including antepartum populations. The position requires delivering exceptional maternal and neonatal care in a dynamic environment.
Job Details:
- Position Description: The registered nurse will provide direct patient care in a Family Birthing Center, supporting full spectrum obstetric services including labor, delivery, and postpartum care. The unit handles both low and high-risk patients, including antepartum, term, and preterm pregnancies.
- Required Qualifications: Certifications include BLS (American Heart Association), ACLS (American Heart Association), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), and Advanced Fetal Monitoring. Education requirements include a valid nursing license. Experience requirement: minimum of 2 years in a labor and delivery setting.
- Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, starting at 6:45 AM, totaling at least 36 hours per week. The schedule includes every other weekend, with holidays rotating. Staff has access to self-scheduling and can trade shifts.
- Additional Information: The role involves working in a high-acuity environment with a variety of patient populations. Experience with electronic fetal monitoring and the ability to read and interpret EKG strips are required. Candidates must be able to perform in a fast-paced setting, including supporting C-section deliveries and "catching babies" when needed. All staff floating to other Sacramento facilities, with orientation lasting 2-4 days on the floor with a preceptor.
