Job Summary
Labor and Delivery (L&D) nurse positions are available in a healthcare facility in an unspecified location. This role involves providing specialized care for patients during labor and delivery, including high-risk pregnancies. The position is scheduled for night shifts with a minimum of 36 hours per week, and the start date is October 27, 2026, with an end date of February 2, 2027.
Job Details
- Certifications, Education Requirements, Degree Requirements, Location Requirements, and Years of Experience: Valid state licensure to practice as an L&D nurse, with a minimum of 2 years of labor and delivery experience required. Certifications include ACLS (American Heart Association), AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring, BLS (American Heart Association), and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program).
- Shift: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Responsibilities: Managing standard labor and high-risk obstetric patients, triaging OB patients at 20 weeks or greater, circulating C-sections, and collaborating with OB physicians and anesthesia staff who are onsite 24/7.
- Additional Requirements: Candidates must submit a copy of their drivers license at the time of application to validate legal name. Flexibility to float to mother-baby units or level 1 nursery may be required based on skill set. Floor-specific orientation will be provided over 2-3 days.
- Schedule: Days every third cycle or every other night cycle. Candidates will work holidays on a rotating basis but are not guaranteed days off during these times.
- Additional notes: No call responsibilities; extra shifts may be available; hospital can cancel up to four shifts per 13-week assignment.
