Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift assignment requiring WA licensure and hands-on management of high-risk obstetric conditions.

Details

• Labor and Delivery unit within a hospital setting
• 3x12-hour night shifts, 18:45-07:15
• Facility averages over 300 births per month
• Floating to Post-Partum unit required based on patient care needs
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required in hand
• Minimum 2-3 years of L&D experience in a unit with comparable volume and acuity required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP
• Preferred certifications: AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate, FHM
• Experience with Magnesium Sulfate drips required
• Experience circulating and recovering C-Section patients required
• Experience managing high-risk deliveries, hemorrhage/shock, and VBAC/trial of labor required
• Experience with EFM (External Fetal Heart Monitoring) and IUPC placement/calibration required
• Prior travel experience required
• Charge nurse experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum stages
• Manage high-risk conditions including pre-eclampsia, placenta previa, HELLP syndrome, and multiple gestations
• Assist with newborn care including APGAR scoring, neonatal resuscitation, and thermoregulation
• Support breastfeeding/lactation and baby-friendly postpartum protocols
• Required orientation modules completed and signed off by facility managers
• RTO limited to 5 days or less per assignment and must be disclosed prior to consideration
• No block scheduling; flexibility with scheduling required
• Local travelers accepted at the same rate as non-local travelers
• Travel pairs accepted
• Former staff must be separated from the facility/system for at least 1 year before being considered for rehire as a traveler
