Travel Nursing Job Details
- Location: Seattle, Washington 98122, a dynamic urban neighborhood near the city’s cultural attractions, waterfront, parks, and renowned food scene
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,220–$2,340
- Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse contract
- Contract Duration: 26 weeks
- Start Date: October 19, 2026
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts, approximately 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.
- Schedule: Four night shifts per week as scheduled to meet unit needs; approximately 36 hours per week
- Unit: High-risk, high-volume Labor & Delivery
- Unit Size: 31 rooms and 31 beds, with approximately 15–17 patients per day and more than 500 births per month
- Weekend and Holiday Coverage: Weekend coverage and holiday assignments are required as needed
- Floating: May float to Antepartum, Postpartum, or other nearby units and campuses when clinically appropriate
Labor & Delivery Travel RN Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse license in Washington or an active compact license
- At least 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
- High-risk Labor & Delivery experience in a fast-paced, high-acuity obstetric environment
- Current BLS certification
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Epic experience, including electronic fetal monitoring documentation
- Demonstrated ability to circulate for Cesarean sections
- Demonstrated ability to function as the delivery baby nurse and provide care to newborns through transfer to postpartum
- Ability to work weekends and holidays as scheduled
- ACLS and AWHONN Advanced or Intermediate certification are preferred
Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients experiencing routine and high-risk labor and delivery
- Recognize and respond to abnormal fetal heart rate patterns and changing maternal or fetal conditions
- Assist with vaginal deliveries, Cesarean sections, forceps or vacuum-assisted deliveries, and other obstetric procedures
- Circulate during Cesarean sections and support patients receiving regional or general anesthesia
- Function as the delivery baby nurse, completing newborn assessments and providing immediate newborn care
- Administer newborn prophylactic care, including eye medication and vitamin K injections, and complete identification and security procedures
- Perform APGAR assessments, cord care, thermoregulation, and other essential newborn interventions
- Care for patients requiring Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, insulin infusions, anticoagulation therapy, and other high-risk treatments
- Support patients with pregnancy-induced hypertension, hemorrhage, substance-recovery needs, multiple births, and other complex diagnoses
- Provide patient education, breastfeeding support, pain management, and postpartum recovery care
- Document assessments, interventions, fetal monitoring, and patient progress accurately in Epic
- Collaborate with obstetric providers, midwives, anesthesia, respiratory services, pharmacy, social services, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
- Float to appropriate maternal-child health or support assignments when requested and within demonstrated competency
