- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,160 - $2,270
- Unit Type: High-risk, high-volume Labor & Delivery unit
- Additional Needs: Weekend and holiday coverage as needed; floating may be required
Job Requirements
- At least 1 year of Labor & Delivery RN experience required
- High-risk obstetric experience required
- Current RN license required; compact license must be active at time of submission
- Required certifications: BLS and NRP
- Preferred certifications: ACLS and AWHONN Advanced/Intermediate
- Epic charting experience required
- Strong experience with electronic fetal monitoring
- Comfort working in fast-paced, high-acuity healthcare environments
- Ability to circulate for C-sections is required
- Ability to function as baby nurse during delivery and transition newborn care to postpartum
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring patients, including high-risk and complex deliveries
- Circulate for C-sections and assist with operative obstetric procedures
- Serve as the baby nurse during delivery and continue newborn care until transfer to postpartum
- Perform newborn assessments and immediate post-delivery care, including eye and thigh medication administration and vitamin K support per protocol
- Monitor fetal status and respond appropriately to changes in maternal or fetal condition
- Administer and manage medications commonly used in obstetric care, such as magnesium sulfate, insulin, and heparin
- Support safe, evidence-based care in a busy Labor & Delivery unit with a strong team-focused environment
- Float to postpartum, antepartum, or other related units as needed based on unit needs and skill set
- Document accurately in Epic and collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary care team
