- Floating: May float to Postpartum, Antepartum, or nearby sister facilities as needed
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required; compact license must be in hand at submission
- Minimum of 1 year of Labor & Delivery nursing experience required
- High-risk obstetric experience required
- Experience working in fast-paced, high-acuity acute care environments
- Epic charting experience required
- Current BLS and NRP certifications required
- ACLS and AWHONN Advanced are preferred
- Must be comfortable with circulating and newborn care responsibilities
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays as scheduled
Responsibilities
- Provide skilled, compassionate women’s health care to laboring patients in a high-volume Labor & Delivery unit
- Circulate for cesarean sections and support procedural workflow in the OR
- Serve as baby nurse during delivery and provide newborn care until transfer to postpartum
- Perform newborn assessments, including APGAR scoring, thermoregulation, and initial stabilization
- Administer newborn care tasks such as eyes/thighs and Vitamin K injections as assigned
- Monitor and support patients receiving medications such as magnesium sulfate, insulin, and heparin
- Assist with high-risk deliveries, fetal monitoring, and rapid response to changing patient needs
- Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and the care team to ensure safe, efficient patient care
- Adapt to floating assignments within related women’s health and newborn care areas as needed
