Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a day shift position requiring 2 years of L&D experience and CO or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a hospital setting
• Community-level facility with 100-200 births per month
• Patient ratios of 1:4 (1:1-2 in labor, 3-4 postpartum)
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 7:00-19:00 on various days of the week
• Every other weekend required, subject to change per unit needs
• On-call requirement of 1 shift every 6 weeks
• Floating required within scope to meet facility needs, including to sister facilities within the North region as requested
• Uses Epic charting system
• Scrubs provided

Requirements

• Active RN license (CO or compact) required
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate
• ACLS preferred
• STABLE certification preferred
• Experience with labor and delivery management including vaginal delivery, C-section circulation, and high-risk delivery assistance
• Experience with fetal monitoring including external and internal fetal monitoring
• Experience with antepartum, postpartum, and newborn care
• Experience managing high-risk conditions such as pre-eclampsia, PPH, VBAC, and multiple gestation
• Epic charting experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn stages
• Perform neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring and newborn resuscitation
• Support patients through high-risk conditions and complications including hemorrhage, eclampsia, and uterine rupture
• Administer medications including Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, and antihypertensives
• Provide breastfeeding and lactation support to postpartum patients
• Complete all facility-specific training modules within the first week of assignment
• Local candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are eligible for the local rate
• Maximum of 10 RTO days approved per 13-week contract, with blackout periods during select weeks in 2026-2027
• No blocked scheduling requests permitted
• First-time travelers may be considered if experience requirements are met and the fit is right
• Previous UCHealth employees who applied internally within the last two years are not eligible for consideration
• Travelers who completed a full year on assignment with UCHealth may need to wait at least one year before being rebooked
