Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a Level III high-risk perinatal unit, requiring 2+ years of L&D experience and AWHONN/fetal monitoring certification.

Details

• Level III high-risk perinatal unit with 19 L&D beds, 10 antepartum beds, 30 postpartum beds, 3 ORs, 2 PACU bays, and a 7-bay triage area
• Facility performs 200-300 deliveries per month
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:30
• Target staffing ratios of 1:1 in labor, 1:3 couplet care in postpartum with CNA support, and 1:2-3 in antepartum
• Weekend shifts required
• Floating to Postpartum required, with possible floating to sister facilities
• No on-call requirements
• Unit supported by surgical techs, CNAs, delivering providers, CRNAs, and health unit coordinators around the clock
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required, following AWHONN standards
• Experience in facilities with 200+ deliveries preferred, though 100-200 delivery experience will be considered
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate or Relias Fetal Monitoring
• AWHONN Advanced certification preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Sterile vaginal exam (SVE) skill is a hardstop requirement
• Skills in IV therapy, blood product administration, high-risk and vaginal delivery assistance, C-section circulation, hemorrhage/shock management, and fetal monitoring required
• Experience with medication administration including antihypertensives, magnesium sulfate, and pitocin required
• No prior travel nursing experience required
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required, which may include Charge RNs or Leads
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Position located at the Pavilion for Women and Children, offering comprehensive maternity services and a Level II NICU
• Responsibilities include assisting with high-risk and vaginal deliveries, C-section circulation and recovery, neonatal resuscitation, and newborn assessment
• Care encompasses antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum patients including couplet care and multiple births
• Must be comfortable managing conditions such as pre-eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, preterm labor, and postpartum hemorrhage
• Provides pain management support including epidural and nitrous oxide administration
• Facility is a Level II Trauma Center with 571 total staffed beds across both campuses
• Scrubs may be any color except reddish orange
• Parking is facility paid
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are not accepted; a 50-mile radius rule applies
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travel staff member and cannot be within 50 miles of the facility
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
