Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery | Level IV | Columbus, Ohio
Experienced Labor and Delivery Registered Nurses can join a high-acuity Level IV L&D team in Columbus, Ohio, for a 13-week travel nursing assignment. Make a meaningful impact caring for mothers, newborns, and families in a collaborative setting with approximately 450 deliveries each month and support from a broad interdisciplinary care team. Travel RN Job Details
- Location: Columbus, Ohio
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,050–$2,160
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: November 16, 2026
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12-hour day shifts
- Shift Hours: 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m.
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Unit: Level IV Labor and Delivery
- Patient Population: Neonates, adolescents, and adults
- Typical Ratios: 1:1 on days and nights
- Weekend Requirement: No scheduled weekend coverage indicated
- Orientation: 36 hours
- Floating: May float to antepartum or other related units as needed
Labor and Delivery RN Requirements
- At least 2 years of recent Labor and Delivery nursing experience required
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio or a valid compact nursing license in hand at submission
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
- AWHONN Advanced certification required; NCC C-EFM certification may be accepted in lieu of AWHONN Advanced
- Graduation from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
- Recent Epic experience required
- Proficiency with IV starts and care of obstetric patients
- Two professional references required, including at least one reference from a manager, director, supervisor, or other formal leader
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred
- Flu vaccination required; medical exemptions may be considered
- Completion of Ohio fingerprinting and credentialing requirements on an expedited timeline
Labor and Delivery Nursing Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum periods
- Monitor maternal and fetal status using external and internal fetal monitoring equipment
- Recognize and respond to abnormal fetal heart rate patterns and obstetric emergencies
- Care for high-risk antepartum patients, including those receiving magnesium sulfate therapy
- Assist with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, tubal ligations, and other obstetric procedures
- Circulate for cesarean sections and recover post-cesarean patients
- Perform triage, sterile vaginal examinations, cervical assessments, and non-stress tests
- Administer and monitor Pitocin, epidural therapy, blood products, and other medications or infusions
- Support newborn transition, including APGAR scoring, thermoregulation, security banding, and cord sample collection
- Provide breastfeeding and lactation support, fundus and lochia care, perineal care, and postpartum hemorrhage management
- Document accurately in Epic and collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory services, pharmacy, IV teams, social services, and rapid response teams
