Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a high-risk unit on night shift, requiring 2 years of L&D experience and AWHONN Intermediate certification.

Details

• High-Risk Labor & Delivery Unit within a teaching hospital setting
• Unit features 12 private labor/delivery rooms, 6 dedicated OB triage rooms, and 2 cesarean section ORs
• Works closely with High-Risk Antepartum and Antepartum Units on the same floor
• Dedicated social work services support patients and families with complex needs
• Postpartum and recovery care provided on a separate unit
• Collaborates with on-site MFM attendings, fellows, and OB/GYN residents
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
• Every third weekend required
• Call required, consisting of three 12-hour call shifts per scheduling period
• Typical patient ratio of 1:2
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active MO or Compact RN license required
• Required certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, NRP
• Preferred certifications: AWHONN Advanced, FHM, STABLE
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
• High-risk L&D experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Must be clean-shaven to ensure proper mask seal for OSHA respirator fit testing, with no medical or religious exemptions accepted

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive care for high-acuity obstetric patients including high-risk deliveries, C-sections, and antepartum complications
• Support a wide range of labor, delivery, and postpartum procedures including VBAC management, hemorrhage response, and fetal monitoring
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including MFM specialists, OB/GYN residents, and nursing staff
• Scrubs are provided
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Candidates must live more than 70 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
• Clinicians cannot work more than 1 year as a traveler without taking a 6-month break before returning
• Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years are required for consideration
