Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring 2+ years of L&D experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Labor and Delivery unit within a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• May be required to float
• Cares for antepartum, high-risk antepartum, and postpartum patients
• Assists with vaginal deliveries, C-sections, and multiple births
• Provides neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring and thermoregulation

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced (NCC C-EFM accepted in lieu of AWHONN Advanced)
• Epic EMR experience required
• IV therapy and phlebotomy skills required, including starting and maintaining IVs
• Experience with fetal monitoring (external and internal), spiral electrode placement, and IUPC placement
• Experience with high-risk antepartum care and triage of obstetrical patients
• Skilled in circulating and recovering C-section patients
• Experience with magnesium sulfate therapy and pitocin administration
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager/director or supervisor; charge RN acceptable for second reference; no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

• Facility delivers over 300 births per month
• Responsible for postpartum care including cesarean section, hemorrhage, and pregnancy-induced hypertension management
• Supports breastfeeding and lactation needs of postpartum patients
• Performs fundus, lochia, and perineum assessments and care
• Requested time off must be submitted and built into the contract prior to assignment start, limited to 7 days or less
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6 months away from the facility
• Current employees are ineligible for travel assignments at this health system
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract due to strict credentialing timelines
