Shift: 13 Weeks, 3 X 12's, Nights 7:00 p - 7:00 a.
Ratios: 1: 1-3
Years of experience REQ: 3 Years, Community Hospital Experience preferred.
Certs REQ: BLS, FHM, NRP. AWHONN Advanced AWHONN Intermediate preferred.
Must-Have L&D Experience
- Labor & Delivery / LDRP
- Antepartum & postpartum care
- Vaginal deliveries
- C-section: circulating and recovering C-sections
- Fetal monitoring — external & internal
- IUPC and fetal scalp electrode placement
- Recognition/treatment of abnormal FHR patterns
- Magnesium Sulfate, Pitocin, Terbutaline, Prostaglandins
- Management of postpartum hemorrhage, PIH, and hemorrhage/shock
- IV therapy & phlebotomy
- Newborn assessment and immediate newborn care
- Breastfeeding/lactation support
- Mother/Baby or couplet care
- D&C and tubal ligation
Post-op gynecology/hysterectomy care
Newborn Skills
- Newborn assessment
- Hypoglycemia
- Phototherapy
- Metabolic screening
- Cord care
- Circumcision care
- Infant identification/security
- Car-seat education
- Discharge teaching
