Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring an active NV RN license and 2+ years of L&D experience, working night shifts on an LDRP unit.

Details

  • LDRP unit providing Labor & Delivery, Recovery, Triage, Postpartum, and Nursery care
  • 15-bed unit with 6 L&D beds and 9 Postpartum beds
  • Level 1 nursery with postpartum couplet care
  • Patient population includes adults and newborns
  • Common diagnoses include antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, pre-eclampsia, cesarean section, inductions, and neonatal hyperbilirubinemia
  • Patient ratios follow AWHONN standards
  • Equipment used includes Omnicell Medication Dispenser, Baxter Pumps, Masimo Monitors, and GE Centricity Fetal Heart Rate Monitoring
  • EHR system used is Centricity/MEDHOST
  • Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • Every other weekend required
  • No call requirements
  • Floating to other departments such as Med/Surg and Psych required based on patient census and department needs

Requirements

  • Active NV RN license required
  • Current BLS, NRP, and ACLS certifications required
  • Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of L&D experience required
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing required
  • Experience with SVD (no VBAC) and cesarean section required
  • Experience in OB triage, nonstress testing, postpartum, and nursery care required
  • Experience managing hemorrhages, fetal monitoring interventions, and pre-eclampsia/eclampsia/hypertensive crisis patients required
  • AHA certifications required
  • Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
  • Active Nursys/licensure verification required at time of consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide comprehensive care across Labor & Delivery, Recovery, Triage, Postpartum, and Nursery
  • Manage newborn care and procedures including hyperbilirubinemia treatment
  • Team environment values knowledgeable, flexible, hardworking team players
  • Street clothes are not acceptable attire
  • Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be considered for the travel rate
  • Candidates cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
  • Cannot be employed elsewhere full-time while on assignment
  • Weekly orientations offered
