Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring 2+ years of high-risk OB experience and AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification.

Details

  • Acute care setting within a high-volume L&D/PP/MB unit averaging approximately 4,000 births per year
  • Unit includes 11 L&D beds, 7 antepartum/high-risk beds, 3 triage beds, 24 postpartum beds, and 2 OR suites
  • Patient population includes pre-eclampsia, gestational and insulin-dependent diabetes, high BMI, multiples, preterm labor, AMA, and substance abuse disorders
  • Responsibilities include high-risk OB, triage, OR circulating, and surgical admission and recovery care
  • RNs are required to titrate drips, including Pitocin and Insulin
  • Charge nurse and house supervisor support available, with CNAs and surgical techs on the unit
  • OB hospitalist group in house 24/7, with Neonatology/NICU advanced practice provider available 24/7
  • RT equipment such as vents, CPAP, and BiPAP available for NICU
  • EFM system used is Centricity Perinatal
  • Uses EPIC EMR
  • 12-hour night shifts with weekend and holiday requirements
  • Call/standby requirement applies
  • No floating required outside the unit
  • 36 hours per week guaranteed

Requirements

  • Active WA or Compact RN license required
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring
  • High-risk OB, triage, and OR circulating experience required
  • Surgical admission and recovery experience required
  • COVID vaccine required
  • Copy of driver's license required for consideration
  • Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked, and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire

Additional Information

  • Ratios followed to the best of the facility's ability in alignment with AWHONN guidelines
  • Unit-specific orientation provided in addition to 12 hours of general orientation
  • Hospital-issued scrubs required
  • Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
  • Candidates may not have been directly employed (full time, part time, or PRN) by any facility associated with the health system within the past year
