Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a NY RN license and 2+ years of L&D experience.

Details

  • Community hospital setting within the Labor and Delivery unit
  • Patient ratio of 1:3
  • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:30 AM)
  • Every other weekend required
  • No on-call requirements
  • Floating within scope required to meet facility needs

Requirements

  • Active NY RN license required
  • Minimum 2 years of L&D experience required
  • Community hospital experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Required certifications: AWHONN (Beginner), BLS, FHM, NRP
  • Preferred certifications: AWHONN Intermediate, NRP Advanced, STABLE
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Preferred: previous charge nurse experience

Additional Information

  • Manage labor and delivery care including vaginal deliveries, C-section recovery, and high-risk delivery support
  • Provide antepartum, postpartum, and newborn care including fetal monitoring and neonatal resuscitation
  • Administer medications such as Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, and antihypertensives as needed
  • Care for patients with high-risk conditions such as pre-eclampsia, placenta previa, and preterm labor
  • Support breastfeeding and postpartum recovery including fundal, lochia, and perineal care
  • First-time travelers are not accepted for this role
  • Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible
  • Former Guthrie Healthcare System employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
  • Approximately 4 hours of unpaid onboarding modules required prior to start
