Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Interventional Radiology position requiring Epic and stroke thrombectomy experience.

Details

  • Work in the Interventional Radiology unit of a hospital environment
  • Patient population ranges from pediatrics to geriatrics
  • Unit consists of 4 procedure rooms with an average daily census of 25
  • Uses Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR systems
  • Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
  • Required to work every third weekend, no more than 2 per month
  • Floating required within the facility and scope of practice as needed
  • On-call responsibilities as part of a 3-person call team, 8-10 call shifts per month plus every third weekend, rotated among the team

Requirements

  • Active RN license (GA or Compact) required at time of submission
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
  • Minimum 1 year of IR RN experience required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Stroke thrombectomy experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Trauma Level II experience preferred
  • Experience with vascular studies/procedures, angioplasty, and carotid stenting
  • Skilled in pre/post procedure care, sheath removal/monitoring, and vascular closure systems
  • Knowledge of radiation and laser safety protocols
  • Experience monitoring procedural sedation and administering emergency medications
  • Experience with central line, PICC line, and implanted port care

Additional Information

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care for interventional radiology procedures across a broad patient population
  • Scrubs provided by the facility
  • Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, which must be finalized at time of submission
  • No RTO or schedule changes can be requested after offer or onsite, or during orientation week
  • Holiday coverage required based on how many major holidays fall within the assignment period (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, New Year's Eve/New Year's Day)
  • If one or two major holidays fall during the assignment, no holiday RTO can be requested; if three major holidays fall during the assignment, one holiday RTO request may be considered
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate
  • Previous Piedmont employees (perm, per diem, or FCSS) must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
  • First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
