- Schedule: Monday through Friday with every other weekend and some holidays required
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130 - $2,250
- Charting System: Epic
Registered Nurse Requirements
- Active Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
- At least 2 years of acute care RN experience in the specialty within the last 3 years
- Telemetry, oncology, cardiac, and PCU/DOU/IMC/stepdown experience required
- Ventilator and transplant experience required
- Strong ICU or IMC experience with surgical post-op patients
- Ability to pass a telemetry exam prior to start
- Experience with Epic charting preferred in a fast-paced inpatient hospital setting
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care for thoracic surgery, cardiac stepdown, IMC, and hospitalist patients
- Monitor telemetry and recognize changes in patient condition promptly
- Care for patients recovering from esophagectomies, lung volume reduction surgery, wedge resections, lobectomies, and decortications
- Assist with procedures such as chest tube insertion and ongoing chest tube management
- Manage central lines, arterial lines, PICCs, peripheral IVs, and surgical drains
- Administer and titrate medications and protocols including vasoactive drips, heparin, and insulin
- Support respiratory needs including oxygen therapy, HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP, and non-invasive airway management
- Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver safe, evidence-based patient care
- Float as needed to related units based on patient care needs
