Job Requirements

  • Active Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of acute care Registered Nurse experience in the specialty within the last 3 years
  • Telemetry RN experience required
  • Experience in cardiac telemetry, stepdown, progressive care, or IMC settings
  • Experience with vent and transplant patients required
  • Ability to interpret dysrhythmias and manage cardiac rhythms
  • Experience with Epic preferred/required
  • Must pass telemetry testing prior to start
  • Willingness to float as needed between IMC and thoracic care units

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality care for cardiac stepdown, thoracic surgery, and progressive care patients
  • Monitor telemetry, identify rhythm changes, and respond appropriately to clinical changes
  • Care for patients recovering from esophagectomies, lung volume reduction surgery, wedge resections, and other thoracic procedures
  • Support post-op and IMC patients who require close observation and skilled nursing care
  • Assist with procedures such as chest tube insertion within the unit procedure room
  • Manage a variety of clinical tasks including oxygen therapy, IV management, central line care, and medication titration
  • Collaborate closely with respiratory therapy, IV teams, pharmacy, radiology, and other interdisciplinary partners
  • Float as needed to support both IMC Acute Med/Progressive Care and thoracic care units
  • Deliver compassionate, evidence-based care while contributing to a collaborative team culture
