Job Requirements

  • Active Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license
  • Minimum of 2 years of acute care Registered Nurse experience in the specialty within the last 3 years
  • Prior experience in PCU, DOU, IMC, Stepdown, cardiac telemetry, and oncology telemetry preferred
  • Experience with ventilated patients and transplant care required
  • Experience in an academic Level I or Level II trauma center, or a similar high-acuity hospital setting
  • BLS and ACLS certifications through AHA
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Ability to pass a telemetry exam prior to start
  • Willingness to float as needed based on unit needs

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to acutely ill adult patients with complex cardiac and medical needs
  • Monitor telemetry rhythms and respond to changes in patient condition using strong clinical judgment and critical thinking
  • Care for patients requiring progressive care, hemodynamic monitoring, and specialized interventions
  • Support patients with ventilator needs, transplant-related care, and multiple comorbidities
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapy, IV teams, phlebotomy, and other support services
  • Administer medications and treatments safely while maintaining accurate documentation in Epic
  • Float between similar units as needed to meet patient care demands
  • Contribute to a team-focused environment that values communication, patient advocacy, and quality healthcare
