Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a float pool position at a hospital in Chapel Hill, NC, requiring at least one year of nursing experience and NC/compact RN licensure.
Details
- Inpatient Float Pool position covering all ICU units including Surgical, Neuro, Medicine, Cardiac, Cardiovascular, and Burn Center
- May also float to stepdown units as needed
- Patient ratios generally 1:1 up to 1:3 in ICU, and 1:3 in stepdown units
- Night shift schedule from 7:00pm to 7:00am
- 36 hours per week across three 12-hour shifts
- Every other weekend required
- Block weekend scheduling available
- No on-call requirements
Requirements
- Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
- BLS certification required (AHA or ARC)
- ACLS and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum one year of nursing experience required
- Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN required from an accredited nursing school
- BSN or MSN preferred
Additional Information
- Provides competent clinical nursing care in a fast-paced ICU float pool environment
- Coordinates and delivers patient care using the nursing process across multiple ICU specialties
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams for care planning, discharge planning, and patient education
- Participates in performance improvement activities and utilizes multidisciplinary resources
- Holiday coverage required on an every-other-holiday basis
