Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU/PCU RN for a critical care unit requiring TX or compact RN license and prior travel experience.

Details

• Support a newly opened PCU while caring for MS/Tele, PCU, and critical care patients
• Float to MS/Tele, PCU, and critical care areas as needed during low census
• MS/Tele patient ratio 6:1 and critical care ratio 2:1
• Day shift schedule, 4x12-hour shifts from 7:00 to 19:00
• 13-week assignment length
• Cerner charting system preferred

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and TCAR/TNCC (TNCC/TCAR must be obtained within 30 days of starting if not already held)
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Skilled in a broad range of critical care competencies including ventilator management, arterial/central line care, cardiac drip titration, and neurological monitoring

Additional Information

• Care for a mix of medical-surgical/telemetry, PCU/stepdown, and critical care patients
• Must be willing to float between units based on facility census needs
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible, as local candidates are not accepted
• Facility conducts its own onsite drug screening, including marijuana testing, and candidates should avoid substances that could result in a positive result
• Requires 2 professional references from supervisors within the last 3 years of employment
