Registered Nurse - Intensive Care Unit (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking dedicated Registered Nurses for our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) within a fast-paced Inpatient Observation Unit. This role requires adaptability in a rapidly changing environment with varying patient acuity levels.

Unit Information

The ICU consists of a 28-bed Inpatient Observation Unit located near the Emergency Department. The unit accommodates both medical and trauma overflow beds, catering to a diverse patient population with lower to higher acuity needs, as well as mid-hold patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the ICU setting.
  • Monitor and assess patient conditions, adjusting care as necessary.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Be prepared to float to other areas within your competency as needed.
  • Participate in patient education and support family members throughout the care process.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an acute care setting, particularly in an ICU or similar environment.
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS required; TNCC preferred.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.

Work Expectations

Holiday shifts will be required as part of the role.
