Travel Nursing Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,980–$2,080
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: November 6, 2026
- Schedule: Night 4x12-hour schedule, 19:00–07:00
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients
- Typical Ratios: 1:2
- Unit: 19-bed Neuro Intensive Care Unit with an average daily census of approximately 17
- Charting System: Epic
- Float Expectations: ICU and PCU assignments within scope
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend or as needed during the assignment
- Orientation: 24 hours
Neuro ICU Travel RN Requirements
- At least 2 years of recent Neuro ICU experience; experience in a Level I trauma setting is preferred
- Active Registered Nurse license in Connecticut or eligibility to obtain one; pending licensure may be considered
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Demonstrated ability to care for patients with neurological and neurosurgical diagnoses
- Strong clinical judgment, critical care assessment skills, and ability to work effectively in a high-acuity environment
- One professional reference required
Neuro ICU Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive critical care for patients with subarachnoid hemorrhage, subdural hematoma, neuro trauma, stroke, and other complex neurological conditions
- Care for post-craniotomy and post-craniectomy patients, including those requiring close neurological and hemodynamic monitoring
- Manage external ventricular drains, lumbar drains, intracranial pressure monitoring, arterial lines, central lines, and CVP monitoring
- Care for mechanically ventilated patients and manage respiratory support, including BiPAP, CPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula
- Titrate vasoactive, cardiac, sedation, insulin, and neuromuscular blockade infusions according to patient needs and protocols
- Perform and interpret neurological checks, intake and output monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and arterial blood gas evaluations
- Support procedures such as intubation, arterial and central line placement, EVD placement, lumbar drain management, and procedural sedation monitoring
- Collaborate with respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, rehabilitation services, social services, rapid response teams, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
- Float within scope to ICU or PCU areas when needed and maintain accurate documentation in Epic
