Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift position requiring at least 2 years of ICU experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

  • Intensive Care Unit setting within a heart hospital
  • Patient ratios of 1:1-2
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
  • No on-call requirements

Requirements

  • Active OH or compact RN license required at time of consideration
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
  • AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Proficient in IV starts
  • Experience with telemetry monitoring
  • Competency with ventilator management
  • Skilled in arterial line management, central line care, and PICC line management
  • Experience with blood product administration
  • Proficient in BiPAP/CPAP management and high flow nasal cannula (HFNC)
  • Able to interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs)
  • Experience with ETT and NT suctioning
  • Skilled in titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips
  • Experience with continuous IV sedation and emergency medications
  • Knowledge of IV insulin protocols
  • Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
  • Able to obtain 12 lead EKG/ECG
  • Experience managing multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
  • Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
  • 2 professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor; charge RN acceptable as second reference; coworker references not accepted

Additional Information

  • Provide critical care nursing to ICU patients including cardiac, respiratory, and multisystem organ care
  • Locals accepted at the same rate
  • Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6 months away from the facility
  • Current employees of the health system are ineligible for travel positions at any of its Ohio hospital locations
  • RTO must be submitted with contract and limited to 7 days or less
  • Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract due to strict compliance timelines
  • Experience with CVVHD/CRRT, Impella, IABP, and Swan Ganz monitoring preferred
  • Previous travel nursing experience preferred
