Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for an ICU position at a heart hospital, requiring 2+ years of ICU experience and EPIC proficiency.

Details

• Work in the ICU of a heart hospital setting
• Patient ratios of approximately 1:1-2
• Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-7:30)
• No on-call responsibilities
• Uses EPIC EMR system

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA certifications only)
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• EPIC experience required
• Proficient in IV starts, telemetry, and ventilator management
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role (Charge RN acceptable for second reference, no coworker references)

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to ICU patients, including arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and suctioning
• Experience with continuous IV sedation, emergency medications, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Cardiovascular skills including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and 12-lead EKG acquisition
• Preferred experience with CVVHD/CRRT, Impella, IABP, and Swan-Ganz monitoring
• Locals accepted at the same rate
• Former employees eligible for a travel assignment only after being away from the facility for 6 months or more
• Current employees of Ohio State University hospital locations are ineligible for travel positions
• RTO must be submitted with the initial contract and built in, limited to 7 days or less
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting requirements promptly upon signing contract, either by visiting an in-state location or completing a mailed fingerprinting packet if located far from Ohio
