Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring 2+ years of ICU experience and a Louisiana or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the ICU of a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30)
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Weekend requirement of 4 shifts per month
• Floating required to other ICUs including MICU, Neuro ICU, TICU, and Burn ICU
• Holiday coverage required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Epic charting experience preferred

Requirements

• Active LA RN license or Compact RN license required at time of consideration (pending licenses not accepted)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• CCRN certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Experience with ventilator management and interpretation of ABGs
• Experience with critical care skills across cardiovascular, neurological, respiratory, renal, and GI systems
• Two recent supervisor references required for consideration
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration
• Any license history issues must be disclosed at time of consideration along with a personal statement

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced ICU environment supporting complex and critical cases
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Strict maximum of 5 days RTO during the assignment
• Candidates residing within 75 miles are considered local and eligible for local rate
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Previous permanent staff at this health system must have separated for at least 1 year before being eligible for travel consideration
