Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift position requiring prior travel nursing experience and comfort working with a prison population.

Details

• ICU unit setting with night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
• 14-week assignment length
• Patients include a prison population
• Any charting system experience accepted
• Strict no-call policy in place
• Locals accepted at the same pay rate

Requirements

• Active TN state RN license or compact multi-state license required
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and CPI certifications required (MAB accepted in lieu of CPI)
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required, 3 years preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, central/PICC/arterial line management, and blood product administration
• Experience managing ventilated patients, BiPAP/CPAP, ABGs, and airway suctioning
• Proficient in titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips and continuous IV sedation
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and multisystem organ dysfunction care
• Experience with CVA/acute stroke management and IV insulin protocols
• Chemotherapy administration and pulmonary artery/Swan Ganz monitoring preferred

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to ICU patients, including those from a correctional/prison population
• Participate in holiday rotation, working 3 of 6 designated holidays (Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) based on assigned holiday group
• Schedule swaps with peers may be arranged to accommodate personal holiday preferences
• RTO requests must be submitted upfront, as no additional time off will be approved after start
