Registered Nurse (RN) - PCU/Telemetry

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for our Progressive Care Unit/Telemetry. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating assigned patients, planning, implementing, and documenting nursing care. This position involves assisting physicians during examinations and procedures, performing various patient tests, and administering medications within the RN scope of practice.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patient health conditions and plan appropriate nursing care.
• Implement and document nursing interventions.
• Assist physicians during examinations and procedures.
• Perform patient tests and administer medications as per established protocols.
• Promote patient independence by establishing care goals and educating patients and families on conditions, medications, and self-care skills.
• Utilize experience and judgment to achieve nursing goals effectively.
• Float between departments as needed within multiple locations.
• Monitor and manage patients who may require cardiac drips and are familiar with advanced procedures.

Qualifications

• Current Arizona Registered Nurse License.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Minimum of two years of nursing experience in a telemetry or progressive care unit.
• Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR), specifically Cerner, is required.
• Strong ability to handle a patient ratio of 6:1.

Shift Information

This position requires night shifts working three 12-hour shifts per week with a six-week schedule that includes six weekends.

Location

Position available at multiple locations within the region, including cities such as Oro Valley, Sahuarita, and Houghton.
