- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,620 - $1,700
- Unit: ICU / CVICU
- Patient Ratio: 1:2 to 1:3
- Schedule Expectations: Every other weekend and holidays in rotation
- Floating: May float to ED or PCU for ICU/PCU holds
- Documentation: Meditech experience preferred
- Dress Code: Navy uniform
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license
- At least 1 year of ICU experience required; 3 years of RN experience preferred
- Prior CVICU experience strongly preferred
- Ability to care for 1-3 ICU patients with confidence
- Comfort managing ventilated patients in a critical care environment
- Proficiency in reading telemetry strips and interpreting cardiac rhythms
- Experience with bedside shift report
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications
- BSN preferred
- Advanced certifications and TNCC preferred
- Previous successful travel assignment preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate care to critically ill adult patients in a mixed ICU setting
- Monitor and manage patients requiring advanced cardiac and hemodynamic support
- Care for post-op CABG patients, patients with Impella or balloon pumps, Swan Ganz monitoring, and advanced hemodynamic needs
- Support neuro ICU cases including aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage, EVDs, bolts, and targeted temperature management
- Assess, stabilize, and intervene for patients with complex and rapidly changing conditions
- Perform bedside shift report for every handoff to promote patient safety and continuity of care
- Float as needed to support ED or PCU holds when assigned
- Collaborate with the care team to deliver exceptional patient-centered care
- Use strong clinical judgment, organization, and communication skills in a high-acuity environment
