Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a MSICU position requiring an active TX or compact RN license and prior ICU experience.

Details

• Work in the Medical-Surgical ICU (MSICU) unit of a hospital
• 13-week assignment with a 7A-7P shift schedule including rotating weekends
• 36 guaranteed hours per week with no on-call requirements
• Floating required per facility floating policy
• Uses Meditech for documentation and order entry
• Unit performs chest tubes, trach care, GI scopes, intubations, central lines, arterial lines, NG tubes, foley catheters, and dressing changes

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required; temporary licenses will not be accepted
• Minimum 2-3 years of ICU experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke certifications required
• Strong critical thinking skills required
• MICU/MSICU background and Meditech charting experience preferred
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required (two required for FL and MO candidates)

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to MSICU patients performing procedures such as intubations, central line management, and chest tube care
• Badge in and out for each shift and take a full 30-minute lunch break
• Arrive on time for scheduled shifts; clock-in after 6:45 is considered tardy
• Navy scrub top and pant with navy or white scrub jacket required
• Clean, neatly trimmed facial hair and natural hair styles required; visible body art must be covered when possible; no visible piercings other than ears
• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
